UNIVERSAL Technologies, LLC is seeking an experienced Production Control Technician for an onsite position in New York, NY, reporting to the night Shift Supervisor. Active LinkedIn preferred. This position is responsible for monitoring job flows controlled by the CA Workload Automation DE (dSeries) scheduling system. The jobs being run executed on either a z/OS mainframe, UNIX, or PeopleSoft server. The position requires knowledge of tools and utilities that run under z/OS, PeopleSoft, and/ or UNIX.
***Schedule: 3-day work week consisting of consecutive days, including weekends and holidays. Hours are 7:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. The schedule rotates every four weeks between Monday–Wednesday and Thursday–Saturday.

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and four (4) years of satisfactory full-time experience related to information technology service management, process management, or operations; OR a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college and eight (8) years of satisfactory full-time experience related to information technology service management, process management, or operations; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3–5 years of related scheduling experience utilizing a Windows-based scheduling system.
- 5 years of experience escalating and documenting critical job failures and scheduling problems.
- 5 years of hands-on experience executing and performing preliminary troubleshooting involving schedulers, batch processes, and cycle flows.
- Extensive Production Control experience within mainframe and/or mid-range computing environments.
- Experience establishing and maintaining job dependencies.
- Experience with enterprise workload scheduling systems such as CA Workload Automation DE (dSeries) or a comparable scheduling platform.
- Knowledge of z/OS JCL and TSO/ISPF.
- Experience troubleshooting JCL errors.
- Experience utilizing Generation Data Groups (GDGs).
- Experience with mainframe utilities such as File-AID and IDCAMS.
- Experience with mainframe compile, link, and bind procedures.
- Knowledge of UNIX environments.
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft and PeopleSoft PeopleTools, including Process Monitor.
- Familiarity with file transfer protocols and utilities such as FTPS and/or Connect.
- Knowledge of PuTTY and WinSCP.
- Knowledge of IMS and DB2.
- Familiarity with Rational tools, including ClearQuest and ClearCase.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong understanding of standard Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to respond quickly to production job failures, determine the general cause of an issue, and appropriately escalate problems to on-call technical staff.
- Ability and willingness to work a rotating 3-day schedule consisting of consecutive days from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., including weekends and holidays.
- Schedule rotation consists of four weeks working Monday through Wednesday, followed by four weeks working Thursday through Saturday.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
- Monitor production job flows controlled by the CA Workload Automation DE (dSeries) scheduling system.
- Monitor jobs executing across z/OS mainframe, UNIX, and PeopleSoft server environments.
- Respond quickly to failed production jobs and determine the general cause of failures.
- Contact and coordinate with the appropriate on-call technical staff for problem remediation and resolution.
- Perform preliminary troubleshooting of scheduler issues, batch processes, job failures, and cycle flows.
- Monitor and manage job dependencies within scheduled production workflows.
- Set up and maintain job flow dependencies.
- Execute and troubleshoot test job flows.
- Escalate critical job failures and scheduling problems as appropriate.
- Document production problems, failures, troubleshooting activities, and resolutions.
- Occasionally migrate software into production and/or test environments.
- Assist with production control activities involving mainframe, UNIX, PeopleSoft, and related enterprise systems.
- Support the continued stability and successful execution of critical scheduled production workloads.
